Good thinkin', this is really a nice look.
You've got to send me pictures when you get it done, if you decide to.
I don't see how you wouldn't, sure looks good to me.

There's an in between flat and gloss, it's called satin, that would look best. IMHO of course.
No problem, it's been a while since I just did one one the spur of the moment.

Hey Lonnie-

Very interested in how you painted the rear frame of your bike! It looks great! Also interested in the yellow section of your seat! Any info would be great.

Brad,on the rear frame I just used a can of gloss black, the trick is prep.I wet sanded it with 400 and painted it.As for the seat I just used a piece of yellow vinyl from a fabric store.

Hey Lonnie,
Your bike looks great, interested in what paint you used to paint your belt guard. It looks like it matches really well.

I can't believe I'm saying this cause I've never been very fond of yellow but that is a very pretty bike. You should definitely paint the frame & swingarm black. That would look wayyyy cool! I am most definitely seeing yellow in a new & better light.
Again, nice bike

Glitch -

Would you be willing to share the technique in PS that you use to change the color of parts, but maintain the highlights? I love working with PS, and I'd like to learn how you do that. You don't need to give away all of your trick, just the general command (such as Image > Adjust > Replace Color) would be nice. Thanks.

Pa, for what you're trying to do, the trick is not necessarily knowing which command to execute on your selection. It's in your ability to grab your selection to begin with. If you don't have the pen tool mastered, you'll have a hard time getting good results often. The magic wand tool will only get you so far.

Once you have your selection, try playing with Color Balance, Hue/Saturation, et all under Image > Adjust.
