Not sure how much interest there is for this, but thought I'd post this for anyone who might want it for reference in the future. I wasn't having any issues, but thought this change might preclude problems down the road. I changed out the stock RR, removed the Harley harness fix, and with one test ride I was getting 14.5V (+/- .2V). So, I'm happy so far. SORRY, MEANT TO POST IN STATOR SUBFORUM
RR Mounted on tail.

Not sure if this was necessary, but I felt better protecting the RR with a screen.

Oldog, sorry previous owner put those on so I don't know the brand. They are bright enough, though.

Looks like a good idea. My Brutalé had a similar set up, the RR is under the seat, but mounted with the fins down and a cooling hole in the under tail. Very slick.

Just checking but 14.5 v +/- 2v means you are getting between 12.5v and 16.5v. 12.5v is way too low and 16.5v is going to start frying components.

Stimbrell, dang good catch. I meant .2V. Thanks.

I put a computer fan above my regulator, then cut a slot (about .35" x 3" lg.) in the plastic part of the tail, just above the driver's seat and about the size of the regulator. My butt, doesn't cover it, so there is reasonably good airflow.
It's running with bike power, (no switch).
Working well so far. Been there for about 20,000 miles.
