New member, have owned my 08 1125R for about 5 years now and rode it for 2.5. The most previous 2.5 it has been sitting with a rod knock.
I just bought a new engine for it and it's rather strange. It has no number stamped on the rear cylinder. There's no vacuum line coming from the rear cylinder head to behind the clutch. The engine came out of an EBR 4/11 stamped frame and had a chain drive. The bike is itself was a hodgepodge of buell and EBR stuff. It's clean to the point where if the guy I bought it from didn't run it, and I did look at the valves, I would have guessed it had never been ran.
So I guess, can anyone tell me anything about this engine? All I can say for sure is that it is a 2010+ engine as it has the sight glass. I guess I should be concerned about the stator on the engine and possibly the vr on my bike since that is stock. I'm just looking for a little information on the history of the engine if anyone here can help.
Picture is just my last track day on mine before everything went to crap.

Best day ever

I am no expert but I would guess from what you say that is an EBR 1190 motor, not a Buell 1125.

It is hard to say what you got. In April 2011 EBR was selling all kinds of race stuff along side of building the EBR 1190RS. It could be either 1125 or 1190cc. It could easily be an RS motor, or out of one of the special track only bikes they sold around that time.

It's definitely an 1125, the casting #s match on the cylinders and head. The only place it says EBR is on the dipstick. The engine is out of the bike on the left.

I remember seeing that bike at homecoming a couple years back. You bought it from Shawn Pagel, right? It was a mix of XB, 1125 and 1190 parts.

OK, this is getting interesting, where are the coolant radiators?

it does not have an onboard cooling system. An umbilical system was used while on the dyno.

Yes I I did. That's really wild about the cooling system, I was wondering how he got the hoses off the pump. So it sounds like they were never on it to begin with.

Haha you'll have to ask Shaun about that.

Update, it runs now and runs strong 99% of the time. That 1% though is in between 4 and 5k. It loses power and stumbles. The fuel pump was replaced when I bought it back in 15, but the bike has been sitting since Nov 2017. I just checked and cold my fp is 550 starting and 400 at idle. Same at the 4-5k range. Could my fuel pump going or could it just be dirty?

Those are some nice machines! Chain drive on the one on the left? I wish I could help you out, Iím battling with a very similar problem except my stumble is about 2500-3500 RPM, give or take a bit. Iíve replaced my fuel pump with no change.

Yup that is a chain drive on it. They also shaved off the alignment pin on the output shaft to mount it.

So I pulled the fuel pressure sensor as tried by this guy: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/831888.html?1530860559 and I had the exact same thing happen. Once the sensor was unplugged it ran like a dream. I plugged in a new one and it ran like crap again. Is it possible that I also fried a diode somewhere when I accidentally put in my Valkyrie's battery backwards to test everything and get the bike running?
