Anyone know what this is? And just as important, is it critical to operation? My guess a chain guide of some sort. . .

Fished out during a routine oil change, from the drain plug side.

Nickel placed near for scale.

Thanks in advance for any info, and ride safe.

Paul

Thanks for the confirmation - - making the assertion that these guides aren't "sacrificial", so guess I'll need to open the case to replace. . .

CR not getting much use in the winter, but assuming best not to ride until sorted. . .

Thanks again for the info.

There has to be a reason they/it failed, so you may be opening up a big can of stink! I replaced my 2008 chain guides and lower chain guides with 2010 ones. they redesigned the lower chain guides to help put more oil on the chain. They also seemed to quite the engine noise a bit. Godspeed!

Any chance you have the parts number for the newer guides ? ? ? I found F0020.1AM, is that the "new and improved" one you are referencing ? ? ?

Going into a 2009 CR, but doubt it matters in the 1125 line.

Thanks and ride safe,

Paul
