How did Ronin Motorworks replace all of the electronics in this bike with solid state parts?

Is there a major thread on that? If not, for those that plan on keeping their bikes, can we have this discussion?

Starting with the fuse box and VR. How does one go about doing such a thing?

"solid state" means the electronics don't have any moving parts [to wear out]. Todays epoxy filled, microchip infested, computer controls are ALL "solid state"

Been a buzz word since the 1969 moon landing.

Unless theres vacuum tubes I haven't found yet... a stock Buell's electronics are "solid state".

Dean,
Your query appears ill informed. What is it you wish to do? There were several design errors made with the 1125. The most grievous was the inadequate and incorrect cooling. That fact drove all the mods incorporated with the Ronin. Today the biggest issue is the sustainability of the 1125 with the looming lack of replacement spare parts.

I hope to mainly clean up that entire under-the-seat mess - and in the end make the bike's maintenance sustainable.

For under the seat, there seems to be only a few items there yet it is a huge mess. A friend of mind told me that he tried to reduce the wires on his brothers bike - it took him a year and still not done. Maybe it's not so easy, but I got to looking at the Ronin and figured it should be doable. Is all of that mess really necessary for just a fuse box, VR, battery, and a rear MC? Can we do better?

I started this thread as I realized this bike is very old in bike years. Especially for a bike long past production. As gasket's, rubbers, seals, etc, wear, either it will be impossible to find parts, or OEM parts will have to be changed out for aftermarkets that have parts in abundance.

Is that agreeable?

Does you bike work? I see no reason to mess with the wiring. Seems like a recipe for disaster to me.

Bike works fine. I maintain it. Little things here and there are needing to be tended to. Just thinking for the future.
