So I bought a fairing and headlight setup. Only after I got everything home, I discovered the reflectors rattle and move inside the housing. I was hoping to run these as stock headlights while retrofitting the HID projectors into the CR.

Can anyone check if their reflectors move or if they’re solid in the housing?

One of mine bounces around; the other is stationary. I have never taken it apart to investigate, but I assume something is either broken or loose.

This happen to my bike also. The reflector and the back housing are loosing up from each other. What I found when I pulled it a part that all the mounting tabs between the two were warn out and so bed that there was plastic dust covering the inside of the housing.

I pulled off the headlight and separated the lens and the back housing. You need to do this sllllooooowwwww and carefully by prying the to a part, I used plastics prybars used for interior of cars.

Once a part I pulled the reflector off the back housing. Then cleaned all the part up. I added spots of silicon on the backing plate and pressed the reflector back into place.

Once that was done I cleaned up all the edges and removed all the glue.

I also added driving lights and PIAA light bulbs.

Well done sir! Well done! That’s cool, thank you

For future reference, use the oven to pull them apart easier without breaking them.

The glue is more on the silicon side vs the glue used on car headlights. It only took about 20 minutes to pull booth apart.

Okay, I’ll have to give it a shot. Probably tomorrow.

I also split the left and right lights so not to break the center mounting brackets.

I just separated mine by hand no tools. Less than 5 minutes. The reflector is loose in the clear plastic that allows you to align the light.

They both rattled for different reasons.

The reflector vibrated due to being loose on the clear plastic. It was probably loose because the foam padding that is supposed to hold them apart was entirely gone, as if it was never there.

The other light was vibrating because it was loose on the alignment posts/mounts.
