Hello, so that's what happened to me.
While I was riding for about 20 minutes, suddenly engine light and battery light come on. I switched so see the voltage and it was about 12,5V. In next two minutes dropped under 10V and bike shutdown an that was it. I tow it to home and charged the battery.
I have 1125 cr with twinmotorcycle stator rewind and drilled hole, CE605SB VR and shorai battery for about two years now.
So now i checked the stator resistance between phases and all are bellow 0,2ohm, and all phases between ground are infinity. Voltage AC between phases are in neutral about 30V and while reving on about 4000rmp are about 90V. Battery while engine off is 13,1V and with engine on is 14,3V.
Now the strange thing i notice is when fans turn on, voltage started to drop almost 0,1V per second.
What is happening. is fan shorted?

both the fans and lights are energy "hogs"...I would first suspect the battery is toast...might want to try hooking it up to the correct type of charger and see if it holds a charge....or the VR is bad, due to excessive heat ( depends where you mounted it)...if you have an old battery might try it first and see what happens...BTW I'm on my second Shorai...HTH

I have original Shorai battery charger and it said that the battery is OK and voltage didn't dropped in 4 days now. the VR is mounted in front beside oil radiator with a lot of air flow and the temperatures are quite low here right now.
Does anybody know how much current do fans run at, so I can measure them if they are OK?
