For you experts - what do I need to do to get the engine out of the frame? Tips?

I just dont have a lot of experience wrenching on the 1125R and need to get the engine out of the frame but want to do so without damaging anything

I had just started swapping the original motor in the CR for the spare I bought, in order to fully evaluate the spare, but a major case of road rash has brought that project to a halt for at least a couple more weeks....

If I get back to it before you get started, I'll be glad to pass along any tips I can.

You don't take the engine out of the frame,

You take the frame OFF the engine..

Mo Easier!!

Hi Chris. Sending a PM.

Might not get to it until morning, though.

K12 - ok, that makes sense.
Did you put the engine/frame on a dolly or something and then start taking frame off or what?

You can keep the subframe bolted to the frame and pull them with the front wheel and the forks as one piece.
We used an ATV stand to hold the engine.

Hmmmm I wonder if I could use my dirbike stand in that manner...

Ive stripped the bike down quite a bit already - subframe is off.
Then I realized I made a big mistake - I want to try to fire this thing up. So now Im trying to find all the connections and reconnect. Think I got it all but the battery is crap (sat outside for 3 years or so, and not sure when the guy put it in - I just recently acquired this bike)

So I'm holding off for a SHORT BIT on removing frame. I want to get this thing fired over first and make sure she runs before really going forward with this project idea

[if youre observant in the various sections you can start to get ideas of what i'll do...or at least some of the ideas I have, ie:1190RS radiators, whole different frame etc]
