So my 2009 CR had been acting as if the fuel filter was getting clogged. So I ordered a used pump from eBay, and continued to ride her.

It eventually got to the point where if I was rolling low speed and pulled in the clutch it would stall. However while accelerating hard it would run fairly well. Then it eventually just will stall and sometimes won't start at all.

The first day it happened it threw the standard 001 and 086 (or whatever the normal low fuel pressure code is.)

Today I went to install the new pump. I had ridden it until about 10 miles on the low fuel light, so I did not open the tank drain. After finally getting the pump out, the little bit of fuel left came out and with it... an odd little piece of rubber tube/tubing/hose fell out as well. The tubing had soaked up a lot of fuel and was sticky. Once the tube started to dry it became sticky and started to fall apart.

I looked up in the tank as much as I could and I found what looks like a piece of heat shrink stuck the the inside of the tank as well. Tomorrow I will try to look down the left side of the tank.

Pictures tomorrow. Stupid iPhone won't post them

I have an impending fuel pump replacement coming up. I look forward to your pics and finding out what this was.

At first I thought you were using the BIC to see what was in the tank

Thank you for clarifying this matter

The material you found would appear to be from the underside of the fuel pump.

Well the new fuel pump and filters along with removing the contaminant (stupid tube, I don't know how it got in there) has fixed my problem. It seems that replacing the pump also helped keep the voltage in range.
