Sounds like its only hitting on 1 cylinder and a tapping/tinging. Have you run a compression test? That may give you some insight as to a valve issue.

I just haven't had the time to uncover the bike and see what's going on. I'm not getting any feedback from the bike other than it running on one cylinder——no codes are being thrown, somehow. It's not road-worthy right now so I'm thinking about passing on updating its registration this month. I'll probably need to trailer it to a shop.

When i did my valves it seems like you could pretty easily rotate the crank a bit too much or not enough when lockiing the crank with the pin tool. If this happened you could be off on the shims quite a bit.

Just a guess. Hope you get it handled.

I triple checked everything but I was still scared when I hit that starter the first time.

Keep us posted on how that flex wrap holds up. I've got a Zas lower fairing I'd like to wrap but wasn't sure how it would stand up to the heat.

The flex wrap is holding up fine, but I admittedly haven’t been able to ride it much.

It won’t idle lower than 3k rpm. I just replaced the IAC valve last night, made sure all intake seals were good, and clamped tight. Checked the ECM and everything looks fine.

I’m at a loss, and will probably be sitting because I can’t keep throwing money at it.
