Does anyone have any experiences with the IDS race ecm sold on the barker exhaust website for the 1125r? I was looking and buying a muffler from them and using the ecm from ebr.com but the one they have is 35.00 more. I know it is only 35.00 but money is kinda tight right now.

We sell the IDS ECMs and had good luck with them. Out of all the ones we've sold only one person was having an issue and I don't think it was the ecm. IDS and I sell the ECMs for $300 and I think EBR sells them for $330.

A peripherally related question: I have a Saron exhaust; would the IDS be appropriate?

A Race ECM is a must on these bikes in my opinion, regardless which exhaust you have. That includes stock exhaust too.

Even if they don't offer a premade tune for your specific pipe, any of them will be better than the stock ECM mapping.

Froggy, a follow-up: Any experience with a PC-V and Autotune? Better or worse than a race ECM? Comparable improvement?

A properly tuned race ecm will be considerably better than a PC-V. The PC-V can only adjust after a certain rpm range, the race ecm is tuned everywhere.

When matched with the correct exhaust, significant gains can be realized.

Dean, Understood. The joker in this is the Autotune; from what I've been reading, it seems the Autotune is monitoring all running conditions and providing tuning feedback. I was wondering if there is any experience with the PC-V and the Autotune, especially any mods made to the bike before the installation, and how well the Autotune was able to provide fuel map modifications; looking for real-world experience over hype

D Adams response was right on about the race ECM for the 1125r, in my case. With the stock muffler ECM, the improvement was superb! Problem was, on my 2008, the ECM only lasted about two years. I have the shipping box and nomenclature with the old race ECM inside the box but there is no way to return it at this point. I put the standard back in the 1125r (meh). Hope they are made better now! Can somebody reprogram the old one or are the internal connections shot? Just buy a new one I guess (suggestions)?
