New Buell CR owner here! Black, clubman bars, 7k miles. Glad I found this forum. It seems anything Buell 1125 related is hard to find. I've been looking for a Jardine Carbon RT-5 and no luck. I was able to find ecm's pre programmed on eBay for different exhaust applications. Anyone selling any pipes on here? Also I was looking for one of those brushed aluminum Pegasus air box guards and no dice either.

Those were discontinued in 2009, so they are pretty rare now.

For the exhaust, I personally recommend getting one of Dean Adam's pipes, and a matching ECM

I have an EBR ECM Matched to my awesome HMF pipe with K&N air filter. But... Dean Adams? If he was around back in 2009 when I got my CR, he would be my choice as well!

My bike had the EBR ecm installed under warranty the previous owner tells me. I wonder if it's the programmable one. Any way to tell? You think dean Adams will sell just the pipe? But then they'd have to program my existing one.I really want a carbon though and can't do the fmf because it's stupid overpriced.

There was a dyno shoot out a few year back by American Sport bike. The top two were Barkers and Dean Adams. If you want performance these are the two. If you want performance and stainless beauty? Dean Adams.

Hands down the best bang for the buck is the Barkers, it is only 2nd in HP & torque to the Dean Adams pipe
and will outlast the HMF and Jardine pipes which have lighter thinner materials.

BUT... Dean has the RT3 with matching ECM for sale at about the same price you can get the Barkers with matching ECM.

I don't know if I want to go as loud as the RT-3. So shiny, too much bling for me. Lol. No doubt it looks like a great quality pipe though. I've heard is LOUD. I saw online Jardine is making the RT-5 available again in carbon and titanium for the 1125 in August. Fingers crossed

"thebat - do some googling, carbon cans rot after so many heat and UV cycles..."

Also bad: after a crash, it is probably much easier to patch-up / repair a metal can versus a carbon can.

All that said, I can't help it, I am still in love with the Torque Hammer II exhaust!:

All the aftermarket pipes are loud. I have the Barkers and matched race ECM. I love the performance. I'm not crazy about all the noise. However, unlike most of my d-bag neighbors with loud Hardleys complete with blasting radio they can't even hear, I idle in 2nd gear through any residential and I'm short shifting until I get to the open road out of town. My ego doesn't get stroked by disturbing people in their homes.

The point is you can have a loud pipe and not be an azzhole if you have a clue.

I just picked up a Saron Innovations slipon; now I have to decide what to do with it; buy a race ECM or sell it before I get in trouble.

I just researched the Saron exhaust for the Buell 1125. What a very interesting pipe! The Saron exhaust looks to have excellent cornering clearance, which is a concern I have with the Torque Hammer II exhaust.

Don't know how the Saron exhaust sounds yet, but I believe it might be not as loud as many of the available exhausts (HMF, etc.).

Please do provide feedback on the sound of the Saron exhaust - what is the relative noise level of the Saron exhaust?

Keep the bike - get the race ECM! I hear that going to an 'open-loop' race ECM is a big upgrade in how the 1125 rides - the engine drive is reported to be much more smooth.

Squish, No plans to sell the bike; have to decide if I want to spend $$$ on a race ECM or not. Also picked up a stock muffler and thinking about doing some surgery on it to get better flow and sound. If someone has a race ECM that they want to let go cheap - hint, hint - , that would improve the likelihood of the Saron going on the bike. Anyway, it will probably be a while before I get the Saron on the bike, but when that happens, I will post .wav files of the stock, modified stock and Saron pipes. And yes, it does appear to provide excellent ground clearance; pipe is tapered front to back, top to bottom, it's narrower overall than stock, with a tapering from the front being a little larger than the inlet pipe to the back being narrower than OEM; probably shorter overall as well, though I haven't measured.

I have an original, new in the box Pegasus brushed aluminum air box guard for sale. I have a bunch of new or slightly used Buell 1125 CR parts I need to put up for sale as well. If you're interested, let me know and I will post a list of what I've got.

Sounds bitchen!

Saron exhaust - not as loud as some of the after market exhausts out there (e.g., Drummer, HMF).

Squish, The clip really convinced me I need to get an ECM and mount the sucker; fender eliminator and new regulator come first, though.

I can recommend the Torque Hammer 2, its a great pipe and sounds better than most 1125 pipes Ive heard, Ive tried the RT4, and barkers. Barkers I did scrape the bottom of the exhaust cornering, havent had any of those issues with the TH2, even on a track day.

Joe,
Getting the new regulator first (presumably the "series" upgrade type) sounds excellent.

I like the Torque Hammer II exhaust. Sounds relatively not too loud and is light - prefer just a metal / aluminum versus the carbon fiber, but whatever. A little concerned about the ground clearance, but it should be fine.

Upaero was positive about this exhaust too and he recently wrote an extensive review on the TH II exhaust at the following link:

Here is my gutted stock pipe with a corvette tip welded on. I used a HMF ecu. In 6th gear at 100 mph I could wack the throttle and stand the front end up. I wish I could have got that on a dyno.

Fyi: You can use a ecu for a 1125R or vice versa. Just throws the Speedo off 6 mph. I picked up a used HMF ecu off an R for $100. I used it on my CR.

I gotta throw in my vote for Drummer.
I have Drummers on both my 1125R and my1190RS.

You can't find a nicer guy to deal with than Mr. Kevin Drum...

So you are saying you could pull a wheelie in 6th gear with no clutch involved?

Guess I must be doing something wrong as well. 4th gear, yeah it would come up, 5th and 6th? Nope and that was with 143 hp on tap at the rear wheel.

Yup, on my CR. Adding that corvette exhaust tip worked some magic. The first time I rode it after the mod nearly came off the bike as i was not prepared for that at all. That bike pulled every bit as hard as my S1000RR does. I would have loved to have got it on a dyno.
