Hi all, I have a problem i'm hoping someone might be able to give me some suggestion on

I recently went on Craigslist and bought a used pitbull rear stand, not realizing (like a ) that pitbull specifically made a stand to work with the 2008 1125r. So imagine my surprise when I went to go swap my brakes and realized this stand would not work. Am I completely screwed and just need to order the stand for the 2008, or is there a possible work around that would save myself and my wallet Thanks all in advance!

Which stand did you get? It may be possible to switch part of it.

I purchased this guy right here http://www.pit-bull.com/product/F0003-000.html
Regular ol' Spooled pitbull rear stand. You would make my day Froggy if it turns out I could just switch out a few parts to make it work

I doubt you can fix this.

The 1125 stand is much wider

Did you get the 1125 spool stand? I'd actually trade for my 1125 non spool stand

(I replaced my 2008 with a 2009, so have spools now)

You can fix it with some simple fabbing. I did it to mine and it cost nearly nothing. I took a piece of aluminum bar stock, 1/2 × 1 1/2 × 4" long, and machined a groove in it 1/2" wide, 1/8" deep down the middle on long side. This now fits in the stand groove. Flipped over, the other side of the aluminum needs two 1/2" wide 1/8" deep grooves machined along its length to accept the spool forks. Then cut it in half. The two pieces now need a hole drilled in one end to be secured with the bolt on the stand legs, and the other end needs to be drilled and tapped to hold down the spool fork. These two holes need to be placed fairly accurately so the spool forks match up with the width of the swingarm spools.

Remove the two bolts thathold the tabs to the stand hoop.

Turn them around, so the spool tab is on the outside.

Use the spool tab as a "fence" so the swingarm doesn't slide to one side or the other.

Wrap the inner section of the bolt-on brackets with heavy tape (gorilla tape, etc) to prevent scratching.

Use the stand. It may be a bit "clunky" because you're lifting with square parts instead of round parts...but it will work just fine.

I had the wrong Pit-Bull stand, too. In fact it was this one. But for the most part, it worked. You need to change your stand into that, so get this part.
