I need to get the surface rust off of my stock exhaust and repaint it. Anyone have any suggestions on best way to remove surface rust and what paint to use?

I use my sand blasting cabinet and find that the tremclad high heat B Q paint works the best for me. All so I drilled 1/8 holes at the low points in the brackets so water can drain from there.
