I picked up a 09' 1125R with a really badly pulsing front brake. I cleaned the rotor best I could with scotch brite and even after plenty of hard braking and a few hundred miles it still wants to pulse. In addition, the rotor seems abnormally warn for a bike with under 15000 miles.

Keeping that in mind, what is the best source of brake rotors right now? A new rotor and mounting hardware looks to be about $350 total from LAP.

I also see an EBC rotor on amazon for $173. If I purchased this would I still need new mounting hardware?

And while we are on the subject of brakes, is there anything wrong with these Volar pads?

Never heard of Volar. I'm partial to the Dunlopad HH+ compound, part number SDP993. You can usually find them on Ebay or Amazon.

No idea about the rotor or mounting hardware.

Should be able to locate a Galfer rotor pretty cheap and you should change the hardware with the rotor.

I don't think there is any other source for mounting hardware besides LAP or American Sport Bike.

American Sport Bike has the rotor kit and hardware for $325.

I'd stay away from organic pads or otherwise you will end up with a pulsing rotor again. Go with HH pads.

I cheaped out years ago on my 96S1 with organic pads...

Those organics came off in a hurry!
no bite at all, like riding in the rain. Nothing for a while, then a little better but not much...

I'd try a brake hone before I bought a new rotor

Alright, I read about that quite a bit, and I'm not replacing my rotor because I think it is warped. I doubt it is. But it looks like someone rode on it after throwing their pads.

I ended up ordering that EBC brake disc and some EBC HH pads and I'm planning on reusing the mounting hardware. I'll try and post a picture of the brake disc that was on there to show how worn it is.

The honing will take off a lot of issues. Obviously won't fix warpage

I hone mine regularly, really gives it a nice feel.

I also hone before I put on new pads so they aren't getting trashed by an old rotor surface

Alright guys, pretty sure you were all right. I took an indicator to my old rotor and it really wasn't too bad. But I put the new rotor and pads on anyway and the brakes work fantastic now.
