So I'm racing the 1125 at Daytona in a couple of weeks, so the question for those of you who have run Daytona:

Gear it for top speed around the banks? And just use a low gear thru the infield?
Or
Gear it a little lower to have better drives in the infield? And compermise some speed on the banks?

Stock motor

I've not been there, but my thought would be to gear for the bank for motor longevity. You don't want to be holding back, or have it bouncing all the way round.

99buellx1, that was kinda what I was thinking, but wanted to see what others had run.

Paul's crew chief here, just checked my notes from the 2010 Daytona 200. We ran 18/43 for the race

Coolice, thanks. Wow that's pretty tall final gearing, don't think I have the sprockets for that, but I can probably close.
