I'm looking for a new set of Nissin Brake Pads that were previously available from the EBR Race Store. I have a couple of race weekends remaining this year so I expect the one set will get me through until the Store is back online. I've tried the SBS and Vesrah but neither are to my liking. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks |

I have one set left, didn't plan on letting them go though. |

D Adams... I get that. I used two sets of Vesrah and one set of SBS trying to find an alternative and held out as long as I could before putting in my last set of Nissins. But here I am... Terrys1980... Thanks for the leads |

If you haven't tried the DP Brakes brand, give them a shot. Part number SDP993 for the 1125s. They can be hard to find but I usually have luck with Amazon or Ebay. You don't mention which Vesrah compound you tried, but I assume it wasn't the SRJL-17. The SRJL-17 is my favorite pad compound of all time, but it's not available for the ZTL2. The DP Brakes HH+ compound is extremely close in attributes and overall performance. |

I am on my last set of SBS. I tried the 2015 but like the SBS a bit better. I never tried the DP brakes. How do they compare to the SBS or 2015s? |

Rocket... I was running the SRJL-XX pads. Haven't tried the DP pads. May give them a try. Thanks for the recommendation. |

Last races I ran EBC Extreme's. They have always been at the bottom of the pile as backups, they worked. |

I've never tried the SBS pads or the 2015s, so I can't comment on them. I've used the RJLs on my '05 Speed Triple and was unimpressed with the performance--not much cold bite and not a great deal of stopping power even when (aggressive street pace) warm. I switched to the DP HH+ on the Triple and it was a noticeable improvement both cold and hot. Here's a chart of the estimated stopping power versus temp for the Vesrah pads--as you can see, the SRJL-17 comes on the strongest early on. Farther up the heat scale, two of the other compounds provide better stopping power, but everything else is inferior at lower temps. https://www.kurveygirl.com/vesrah/Vesrahpadchar.gi f The SRJL-XX looks like it's mediocre when cold, moderate when warm and excellent when hot. Unfortunately, the chart doesn't give actual temps, so who knows how far up the scale in heat you were with your usage. My experience with the Dunlopad HH+ is that its performance is similar to the SRJL-17, although I have never done a track day with my 1125R so I can't vouch for their ability when hot. The DP HH+ have great stopping power and initial bite whether cold or (street pace) hot, are easy to modulate, and are mostly dust-free. (I did have SRJL-17s on my '01 GSX-R600 track bike and was happy with them at a fast intermediate pace. I also used them on my '03 SV650S and '03 SV1000S, which basically turned them into stoppie machines--the 650 a little moreso than the 1000 because it was lighter.) I've used EBC HH+ on my '03 GSX-R1000 and '03 Kawasaki Z1000 and their performance felt comparable to the Vesrah RJL--incrementally better than stock at all temps, but not great. |
