Talked to the owner of a bike I'm considering buying for parts today.

He told me it sometimes makes a screeching/squealing noise that stops when the clutch is disengaged.

I haven't seen the bike yet, and haven't heard the noise.

The first thing that popped into my head was rotor/stator interference, but I can't think of how the clutch would affect it.

Seems like I remember reading about someone with a similar problem, and something is nagging at the back of my mind, but it hasn't popped out yet, and I haven't found it by searching yet.
I'll keep looking, but if anyone has any experience with a problem of this sort, I'd greatly appreciate anything you can tell me about it.

Thanks Zac.
That's the last thing that was worked on, according to the PO, so it's a likely suspect.

My plan was to use this one for parts for my '09 CR, but we'll see once I check it out thoroughly.

I need a fairing on the CR, as I can't bend my neck far enough for good forward vision when tucked down on the air box

Although this one has some issues, the throttle response even at low rpm is interesting.

The Power Commander V and Auto-tune seem to be a nice addition.
