I just purchased an 08 1125R couple days ago with 9800 miles. I understand that at 12500 service interval that the valves will need to be checked/adjusted.
I am trying to find out which manuals to get. I have seen other post that state to get the 2010 service manual because of the updated proper torque settings, but am curious how much difference there will be between the 2010 and 2008. Same question goes for the parts manual (I would think I should stay with the 2008).
In regard to the valve check, what replacement parts will I need to do this check and what things will I need if they need adjustments? Any special tools required?
Sorry for all the noob questions, but I want to do this right and keep her happy.
Btw, what an AWESOME machine, all the other bikes are cruisers (sportster/ultra's). First sportbike.
Thanks for all the help and I'm sure I'll many more questions too.

Please don't post links to illegal pirated copies of the manuals.
You will want the correct manuals for your year, as there have been a lot of little changes to the bikes over the years.
There is only one thing that has an updated torque value, and that is for the crankshaft rotor nut, which you are not likely to ever take off anyway, but the updated procedure has been posted on here many times.

Okay, So I need to find all the manuals for the 2008, I think American Sport Bike has them all. They are very pricey, but understand that they are well worth it in the end.
I'm okay with buying the correct ones, but having the PDF would be helpful to be able to search them for what i'm looking for instead of thumbing through the book.
Would be nice if the hardcopy included the electronic ones.
