Hey guys, I've recently gotten hold of a (2009/2010) 1125 CR. I love the bike, and have already upgraded the stator/rotor (started failing on me the beginning of the year). Now, EBR has gone out of business. May not get my stator core charge refunded, but more importantly I want an EBR racing ECM, and have no Idea where to begin. I need some help finding one if anyone has any ideas.

This is all I can find, and it doesn't seem legit...

I can't see the pics on my phone very well. It should have the words "race use only" cast into the plastic.

Alternatively I believe there is a Tune ECU or equivalent software available and I imagine you could get different fuelling maps and such for your stock ecu. Someone will confirm this I'm sure.

I didn't want to say something about this before because it could lead to taking money away from EBR, but at this point, as the company is in receivership with a unknown and potentially non-existent future, I don't think there is any harm in sharing. Buy the USB cable from Al at American Sportbike, download some free (or almost free) software, and you can pull the tune from any 1125R ECM (stock or "race"), modify it, and save it to any other ECM.

Translation--find somebody with a CR who has an EBR ECM calibration that matches your bike and see if they'll send it to you for you to load into your bike.

----------------------

From this thread: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/760160.html?1429122709

Just to clarify, I have an EBR ECM map from before EBR started disabling the engine braking by default. I don't know specifically which parameter needs to be changed in the configuration to restore the engine braking, but it sounds like Mke is on the right path.

I found an old thread where I specified what you'd need to modify your ECM settings. Original post is here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/699069.html?1354060840

-------------------------------------

This info SHOULD work.

Use ECMRead for Mono to read and write the turn from and to the ECM. Select stock ECM, and the COM port of your cable:

http://www.ecmspy.com/download.shtml Apparently you now have to register to get access to downloads.

Download a definition file that is appropriate to your ECM from ECMSpy.com as well:

http://www.ecmspy.com/eeprom_info.shtml I used BUE2D which is what matched my ECM.

Use TunerPro RT to modify the map itself:

http://www.tunerpro.net/downloadApp.htm

Lastly, you'll need the USB cable to go from the bike to your computer:

http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/A9317.html

That ought to get you able to download the map and view and edit it on your computer. As far as what to change to get rid of the kickstand error, I'm not sure.

(All of the software required is free--your only out-of-pocket cost is the cable, and your time to figure it all out!)

Awesome! ThaNks for responding. I may try and call them, or call a couple local shops that may know something first. But I'm going to start reading into this tonight.

Like Thefleshrocket said, I too do not want to take potential $$$$ from EBR. I have the programmable ECM kit for my 1125, the software disk contains ECM maps for all bikes and exhaust combos supported by EBR. Let me know if your other options dont work out and if all else fails we can use my kit to set you up.

I don't want to discourage you from attempting this but this type of tuning is not a simple task. It takes time and effort(lots).

Even with a computer/electronics background I struggled with ECMSpy on my XB. It can take a good bit of time to learn this stuff.

If you want something easy and just to swap out check out Twinmotorcycles.nl.

Awesome! Thanks for the help everybody. Assuming I do flash my ecm, im asuming i just flash it onto my stock ecm? Id prefer to throw money at ebr as well, but i also would like to learn more about mapping ecms, so ill probably go ahead and order the cable.

Just a word of warning, if you "flash" a file to the ecm and the firmware is different you will destroy the ecm and the only people who can fix it are no longer trading, changing the settings rather than flashing the ecm is far safer. Also Tunerpro does not access everything, I changed every setting in my stock ecm to match my EBR ecm and they did not behave the same.

Thanks Stimbrell for the information. Did you end up finding settings that at least fixed the O2 error and smooth out the performance at the low end?

The low end performance is much improved, I am using a map I was given by a member in the UK and a GPR exhaust, I have further played with the fuel and timing and although I will not say it is perfect it is much smoother. I then changed all the settings in my stock ecm to match but it never ran as well and I gave it plenty of time to "learn"

Can always put on a Power Commander 5, used one on my 1125 with good results--- have a couple of decent maps as well.

I have a 1125CR Race tune ECM laying around. I bought it off eBay a couple of years ago and never used it. I have no idea what tune is on it. You are welcome to it, if you want. Send me a PM

EBR Race ECMs have a sticker on the front and rear.
If you post those numbers/letters, some one might be able to identify how it was calibrated.

Wow! I received now 4 inquiries for this ECM. I did not expect this. I really do not need it, as I bought the real Race ECM with software from EBR in 2010. I don't remember when I got this one nor how much I paid, but I think around $200 + shipping. So to be fair to all, it will go to the best offer over $225. I did not test this, but I have no reason to believe it does not work. However, I will guarantee its function and will refund the purchase cost upon return.

I did send an PM, but im confused by how this forum is set up so maybe I didnt do it right. Either way, im pretty sure that is a stock ecm. Race ecm has race use only carved into it.

No1newb,
The subject can be confusing. I believe this is a standard ECM that EBR loaded with a race tune. Do not confuse the factory racing ECM that comes with the software to modify every possible parameter, like coil dwell time and much more. I also have one of those, but I paid in 2010 $750 for that. Those ECMs are closed loop only. These custom tunes are designed to solve the surging and rough low speed poor performance of the standard EPA legal bikes. These ECMs support aftermarket, high performance exhaust systems. They are labeled, as this is, for race only for liability reasons.

M3FMP012 is a CR calibration for the FMF slip-on muffler.

Thanks for the info guys, I am interested if the offer still stands, I'm still not sure how to send a PM apparently, and don't know where to check mine, but I will explore a little more on the site. This would still fix the low end lumpy feeling assuming I have the FMF muffler correct? and the O2 error

Doubt it will do anything for the O2 error, but its going to wake your bike up. I still dont understand why that ecm doesn't have race use cast into the plastic. I saw that fir sale and passed because I thought it was just a stock.

Btw you can use one for a 1125r also. You Speedo will just be 6mph faster. I'm using an r for an HMF with a gutted stock exhaust. I can nail the throttle and wheelie in 6th at 100 mph.

No1newb,
I have responded to your PM, but you need to correct your email address in BW. I believe it is incorrect. Your email address reads .con and should most likely be .com.....I think.
