Has anyone replaced just the thermistor? I've heard of more than one xb person do it. Mine is running out of range, therefore the light is on quite a bit- as in nearly all the time.

Thanks!

Mine never comes on at low gas. When I turn key on it works then goes out and stays out.

I did mine last week...pull the pump and remove the old resistor and put in one from an XB. Not hard at all.

The "hard part" is pulling the fuel pump.

You either remove the swing arm, or remove muffler then lift rear of bike up enough for the swing arm to drop so the whole pump will have room to drop out of the frame.

Haven't chosen a path yet, probably pulling the swingarm though.

Thanks for the tip- xb part ordered for 14 bucks

Pull the swingarm...makes it very easy to get to the pump.

I believe that putting a 2k Ohm trim-pot in parallel(tap in at the plug under the seat) will bring the thermistor back in range without messing with the pump.

Haven't tried it yet, but Loretta's has finally drifted so the LFL/CEL happens on a cold morning.

She's coming down for paint and an 1190 kit so I'll try to finally prove or disprove my idea.
