Please send your measurements
1) swing arm to LH driver peg bracket
2) belt to eyelet just under LH driver peg
Notes: if your bike was ever dumped on LH side dont send.
Theory: early belt failures, I dumped my bike 6 months ago at @3K mi and replaced the belt, the new one just snapped (not shredded)at 10K mi. I have inspected everything, and this is the only thing I can see that can attribute to an early belt failure. I believe the idler gear is out of alignment and not riding the entire surface on the belt or not perfectly squared up.
and other theories welcomed.

My belt broke at about 12k snapped. The original belt has been revised I believe. The hard take offs and wheelies are leading causes of early belt failures. My bike has never been down. Very well maintained.

I have a never-down 2006 Ulysses with 30k on it. Have snapped (clean break) two belts in that time, both on hard 1-2 shifts.

With 150hp? 10k is nothing to complain about for belt life. Carry a spare.

Sold the bike so I can't give measurment. Snapped belt on missed/sloopy downshift 2-1. With new belt heard odd noise. Spent way too long checking, measuring, reinspecting. Found when wheel turned in forward motion, belt would track to center of bike. When wheel rolled backwards, would track towards outside of bike allowing belt to rub back of foot peg bracket. Normal. Spoke with dealer to verify. If you notice the rear sprocket has no outer lip. Should never be enough to fall off. Tried different methods to try and shim bracket to "correct" what I thought was wrong.

I hope that's a typo. You'd be able to see a 3.94" shift with the naked eye...
