I just replaced all of that for my replacement. I purchased all on line from Surdyke on line. Had the best pricing.

Here is a thought. I'm pretty sure neither Rotax nor HD made that sprague. There is a very good chance the spague can be purchased from a bearing supply house for a lot less money. It's worth the research.

Just be aware that you will most likely need to replace the starter gear with the sprag and the sprag housing. My gear had indications of brinelling on the interface surface.

I had a short write up on the my local clubs face book page:

All 3 are bad housing for sprag clutch, sprag clutch and gear. I wander if the housing has to be smooth like the gear has to be?

I replaced the housing but did not check the inside surface. I assumed if the inner was damaged the outer would be as well. Not worth the chance to me.

Nobuell I took a dermal with a drum sander sanded the rough part of the gear and the sprag housing and smooth them up new sprag clutch works great. That saved me over $200 I will have to see what happens in the long run. Thanks for the tip on Surdyke HD that saved me about $60 over my local HD and got the parts in 10 days. I went about a 60 mile ride today before the snow hits. tonight Total parts $248

Hopefully the drum sanding works for you. I am afraid the new sprag my be damaged. It is a precision ground bearing surface.

I was finally able to start my track bike for the first time after the new sprag installation. Sounds great again.
