I installed HID with projectors, this was a difficult task to get the projectors to fit. The projectors are used to focus the beam and control glare to oncoming traffic. Video for alignment, and delay-lights-on, coming soon

I'd love to do something like that on my CR....I love the motorcycle, but the headlight optics suck balls. Even with HID low beam and LED high beam : (

RAT: you put 2 HIDs in the bike for 2 headlights, with the projectors, they use a shade to block the light going high, flip the high beam switch, the shade lowers, you have high beams.
Honestly the light seems to be the same as stock (throw of light @30-50ft.) but then entire throw of light is pure daylight.
This is with projectors, if you just put a bulb in you stock reflectors the light blasts everywhere, with the projectors it directs the light more like a beam then starts to spread, giving more light directly in front of you, and controlable/ adjustable of beam direction. This is why I went through alot of trouble getting the projectors to fit.
FYI: if your not happy with HID try the 55w ballast before throwing the baby out with the bath water. Caution this will now draw @5.5 amp as apposed to 3.2amp.

This is the wiring diagram. I have not tested the delay relays but they are going in this weekend.

Good job. One can't have enough light. I'm impressed you were able to fit the projector behind the lens.

Functionally, how much better are these than the stock halogen bulbs? I'd appreciate pictures from the rider's perspective of the high and low beams projected on a garage door and down the road.

How do you adjust the beam up-down right-left? Looks good

FYI: wiring harness in not correct, the correct one is going up once to have it all installed.
Dennis, good question
That's coming on the next video, with time delay starts for each light.
But the answer to you question is the 6 socket head cap screws holding the entire light assy on, I shimmed the top 4 with 2 washers each, the beam is exactly on a trunk of compact car 25 feet away, no higher, the projectors cut the light off to that height, flip the high beams, a solenoid in the projector flips the shade down, and blasts light everywhere.

Where did you get the lights? It sounds like you had to put the lights on the bike then set them then take them off to put the clear plastic on I have HID in the stock lights now I have to keep them low if I don't my high beams are in the trees. I have a 10 second time delay relay in mine also. Do they work a lot better than the stock lights?

Yes, they came on and off quite a few times, but the projectors I never touched, I did leave the front clear plastic off to get the projectors PERfectly level by turning them 1-2 degrees. the projectors use the bulb holes and set quite straight, the up and down was the 6 main points I shimmed with washers to dial it in.
The bulbs I have are not the semi covered with metal bulbs, these are the $16 for a pair blast anywhere bulbs. thats why I needed the projectors.
the projectors clip the light high, wired to high beam switch, flip the switch, projectors lets shade down, everyone and everything gets blasted with light.
How is the quality? The light throws the sam distance as the stock bulbs but with pure daylight, and a little better spread on the road, example (left to right) stock is 25-30 ft hot for 20 degrees in front with diminshing visibility at 60 degrees. I get 30-35 ft almost 180 of pure daylight.
here is a scratch pad of what Im say, angles are not correct just...you know.

Looks good. Maybe put some LED's in those empty holes?
Wonder what it looks like on the CR?

Planning to put 100W led in the empty holes, still trying to get the temp down to acceptable level with different heat sinks.

The projectors needed are morimoto mini h1 6.0. Use this site. Www.theretrofitsource.com

I hijacked the ops photo and had it photo shopped to what I'm going to do

04colly, Im quite sure the projectors wont fit in the outers, maybe just straight HIDs would, for flood light ie. side of the road and piss off other drivers, but no beam throw forward
still waiting for some connectors for the slow boat from china, then Ill show the alignment video with delay on.

There will be more when I get it done. That's just mock up and test fit. Got probably 6 hours into just that side. Other side will go faster.

I did this, but found that the stock housing was just too flimsy to hold the weight of the projectors and ended up bouncing the light around waaaaaay too much.

There going to bounce no matter because of the bike and rough roads. Best thing to do is put something underneath to support it. Wedge it all tight.
