Noticed a buzz between 6 and 10k rpm. Sounds an awful lot like the tach cable on an older bike. I think it's something rattling that's loose. What tends to loosen on these bikes? Any suggestions of where to look before I get too worried that it might be valvetrain noise?

Um...go in the direction of the noise, and search that area first.

If you can narrow down where it is, we may be more able to help. Also, R or CR?

Check fairing stays and airbox.

If you recently did a rotate, anything is possible.

I`ve had a rattle, like a ratchet being spun really fast at mid to high rpm in low gears. I could get it to go away by touching the side of the fairing above the handlebars. Finally got tired of it and tightened the screws around the windscreen and like magic it was gone.
