I already have a Jardine( bought it like this) and don't have any complaints. I just need the Ecm from EBR. But I have been holding out on the ecm because I keep telling myself to save 1000 and get one of Deans and then get the matching ecm. I only ride street and already have enough speeding tickets so... I am thinking of keeping the Jardine and just spending the 300 and calling it good. Unless Dean could give me a super deal. But honestly what do you guys think? Dean refrain from comments because I know you are partial, I would like to be partial too but I need to be practical.

Come up here and hear one in person. The RT-3 is only $550, not $1k. I won't try to sell you one, you can do that for yourself well enough. All it takes is to see and hear one in person.

I had the Jardine and my friend has the rt3. They both sound great but Rt3 sounds much deeper and throatier (and louder).

I have an RT2 and the bike sounds like an apache helicopter at idle. Dean's exhausts can't be beat. He does great work.

I have an FMF which is a nice sound and way louder than stock. My buddy just got an RT-3 and his is way louder than mine.

If you don't care about neighbors, other people in traffic and police then def get the Keda pipe. It has the most HP for sure. Legislation is coming and the aftermarket pipe, ECM party will be over for street going people... only a matter of time. So you might want to just go big (loud) while you still can. LOL!!.... we can easily blame the cruiser guys for this

I think there might be a shoot out and write up of many pipes with the EBR ECM (lots of detail) on American Sport Bike website

Cops in my area don't seem to mind. I worked on an troopers car the other day and he said i'm better off so people notice me.

I have had Dean's full system on mine for over a year now and the cops don't seem to mind it. I would definitely recommend an RT3.

I was thinking a grand by the time I buy the ecm too. With shipping and all. I will start to save I guess. Probably close to the end of summer. I knew these would be the responses. I knew the answer too. Ive read the shootout and seen vid and pics of deans exhaust. Just asking the fellas.

I just installed a Barkers yesterday and couldn't be happier. Went on super easy, sounds amazing, light weight.

I have a D&D on my cr and love it! It is super loud, probably one of the loudest exhaust I've heard. Makes my xb12s sound like nothing. I enjoy the loud exhaust so its easier for people to hear me

this is a sad, sad day when I, of all people, post that an exhaust system is LOUD

I must be getting old

I'm running the HMF. Definitely LOUD, so I built an insert for it. (also, factory ECM)
Great sound, not as loud as the Harleys around here.

I might be an oddity but I like the sound of the stock system at anything but idle where the motor racket takes over. On the street I never have seen the need for a loud racing exhaust and since my late 80s and early 90s 750 GSXRs with full race systems have passed I have run quiet street exhausts on the street. I noticed even my completely stock 99 GSXR 600 did fine if not better than many liter class bikes in most circumstances on big Sunday rides in Northern CA and Maui Hawaii, cant say here in NY as the riding absolutely sucks unless you are in the Catskills or north in the Adirondacks.

The OEM system is amazingly good. Very few of the aftermarket systems do better, if as well. This is especially true if you cannot alter the fuel map in the ECU

Can't you just use ecm spy and Dean's exhaust?

Stock isn't even an option. That r2d2 can thing doesn't look right. And Ecmspy isn't worth my time since I would need to weld bungs, get wb02's. Pay for ecmspy mono blah, blah, blah. I do have tuner pro but again, that would require bungs. I burned maps with xb's but never really went crazy. I would rather do a shingle side job on the side and take the extra money and pay for an ecm I know was done right. For know I'll stick with the Jardine and keep living in a fantasy about my next upgrade. By then I will need a new back tire though. Lol. It's always something.

You can tune with tuner pro using the narrow band o2 sensors. I have been tweaking my ecm for quite a while using the stock o2's and have gotten some noticeable results.

Old school Bob here and I think a motorcycle should sound like a performance machine that it is. It IS a sport machine and really not meant to be a commuter, at least here in the States. As far as loud mufflers, I like the throaty sound of loud pipes be it a 427 Camaro, 5 liter Mustang or my 1125R but I live where there are virtually no mandatory restrictions on sound. It is marvelous to live in a free state and I sympathize with those who do not. Sport riding in these wide open canyons of Utah be it on a "loud" Harley, Buell or R1 is just plain fun, and why I ride. I will qualify that with; I always respect my neighbors and ride slowly, carefully and quietly when I leave for the rural countryside. For work, shopping and other recreational pursuits its the quiet sport ute or the truck. My system below:
