What is the best recommended seat for the 1125r? I do a lot of long 400+ mile trips and the stock seat is painful for my 6'2" fat self. I'm looking for the most comfortable seat I can find. | ||

I've got one of the Buell touring seats off of a Firebolt, it's not too bad. I'd imagine one of the gel seats would be better though. | ||

Yeah the old factory touring seats are nice if you can find a used one for less than $300. The seats from American Sportbike are the best opion IMO. The seats are made by Saddlemen's. I have this one and it's a great seat. http://americansportbike.com/newdir/Item/17323-TRC F | ||

The American sportbike ones are Saddleman's Note - treat yourself to their quick release seat pin kit if you don't have one Also note, I had one on my 08 that was totaled out. I liked it so much I got one for my 2009. After about 6 months, I had some cracking in the base. Saddleman promptly replaced the seat, no charge. They stood behind their product. I went back to the stock seat maybe 2 years ago, the touring seat has been in a locker since then. Debating on selling it. | ||

I was thinking this one... http://americansportbike.com/newdir/Item/17323-SP I'm just worried how the "suede-like cover" will hold up over the miles. I've seen customers CTS-V's that have worn out suede shifters and wheels after 6-8 months. | ||

I have a Corbin. Some of the reviews I've read are not good but I find it comfortable enough and I've done quite a few 300+ rides. As for the Saddleman seats, they may be comfortable, but aesthetically that Emergency Fart Exit down the middle just doesn't do it for me  | ||

I've had the carbon track cf seat for a little while now. I've been able to put about 15-17,000 miles on it and it has been absolutely amazing. It's the same one Terrys1980 has. Worth every penny!!!  | ||

Try Baldwin Motorbike, kind of expensive but you can get exactly what you want. I love mine. | ||

I've got 35K miles on a Corbin seat. Still like it. It's much flatter than the stock seat. I feel more in the bike. I also have the Buell comfort seat. It is cushy. It's thicker than the stock seat a bit. I'd sell it for $225. It has less than 600 miles on it. | ||

I have a Buell Select(Tour) seat on Loretta. Put it on the evening I first got her. I see the 1125R as a sport-tour more than a sport... the EBR 1190 is sport all the way. A set of Cortech panniers and a good tail-bag and you're good for a week or two. Corbins are the best seat in the world if the pan fits your butt. They're saddles, not seats. Loren at Baldwin makes a very happy seat. I have one of his on my Uly. 1/2" gel insert. Happy when warm, cold and hard on a winter morning. It makes the Uly my "daily rider" with a stock seat hanging on the garage wall. This time of year I park in the sun... Z | ||

Had a local guy re-work my stock seat with better quality foam and new upholstery. It's about 1" thicker than stock, looks great, and keeps my butt comfy all day long. | ||

I have the "swade" saddleman and it has held up well at 17K miles. It would grab too much for a track day if you move around so keep your stocker if you plan on a TD. The channel works in two regards. Unless you pretty big the channel actually cools your bottom with a vacuum from the back. It is also quite comfortable once you don't have the pressure down south too. Here come the jokes... Highly recommended. Thanks to Al for stocking them and making the seat happen at all. +1 on the pins too. | ||

You can make your own pins with some 1.5" X 1/4"-20 stainless bolts and a dremel tool. | ||

I just ordered one of the Saddlemen seats from Al a week ago, and it's been the best decision I've made in two years with the bike. |
