Harley wants 82 bucks for a new one. I tried cutting the wire for a new splice but those things are fused together. Is this common and has anybody ever "rebuilt" their's? This bike is aggravating me.

Does your horn work? If not, then the fuse is blown. That fuse also is the one for the speed sensor.

No look, the wire is cooked. the speedo works but it is a matter of time until they lose all the insulation and short. I cannot tell the colors of wire any longer. I wouldn't have messed with it if they weren't exposed. I can see the color of wire coming from the deutch connector but the closer it gets to the motor they cooked together and show only black. Now I'm trying to figure out how to run new wire but haven't a clue which color connects. 65 82 it's too much loot right now. I wanna just splice them. Anybody ever had one burn on them before?
