All right, I have found one that is close enough to go see. Here are the details:

-6,400 miles, second owner
-Clutch weep issue
-A few minor scratches on fairing and right side pod. Unsure if these will buff out, they look to be superficial in pictures. The 1125R sticker above the left headlight is damaged.
-Right side turn signal cover is cracked.
-All stock except for ZG dbl bbl tinted wind screen.
-The damage was reportedly caused by the first owner running it into a large bush.

Owner has stated that $4,500 is absolute min. sell price.

Thoughts?

Both the pod and weep are $100 issues each. Minor, for sure.

My only concern with a bike this old and with this few miles is you just have to expect a seal or a water pump or something like that to fail.

It's been ridden basically 1,000 miles a year. What a garage queen!

...the server died awhile back and we lost a "New Owners" thread that was well populated with tips on what to look for ...from my not too good memory...
From the ground up:
1) Tires: the stock tires were Pirelli Corsa, with 6K on the clock...new tires could be needed
2)Wheel bearings: the wheel bearing with orange seals were prone to failure
3)Rear Brake: the master cylinder tended to stick due to internal corrosion- the brake would get stuck on locking up the rear wheel
4) Rear Brake#2: the exhaust blows on the rear caliper and disk - it would sometimes fill the exposed parts with soot and cause the brake to stop working/lock up
5)Front and rear suspension is stiff make sure all the adjustments are free and working - sometimes PO "over adjust" things and cause harm
6) Clutch weep - could cause excessively worn (OEM) clutch plates due to the PO lack of repair ....new aftermarket plates about $200
7) look for coolant loss from weep hole on water pump casting ( above clutch area, where all the hoses connect...on the bottom ( 6 o'clock) of that casting/area)bad water pump seal = NOT too easy or NOT low cost to fix...(flush and change the coolant if you bring the "queen" home - the whole system only takes (3) quarts add some Water Wetter to your coolant mix.)
8) Belt wear - look for "holes" or bumps( where small stones get trapped and push thru the belt)in the main surface - may need a new one... fraying on the edges isn't too serious and easy to trouble shoot and fix
9) Ignition switch wires: up front where the wire harness enters the bottom of the switch - an area of small clearance and when the bars are turned "lock to lock" the wires break away from the switch causing intermittent power or none at all.
10) Battery age/state of charge

a couple of pluses to look/ask for:
a) has the throttle linkage been "de-noided"
b) has the PO installed an EBR "race" ECM
those two items and a fresh battery may indicate a PO who cared about the performance of the machine...hope this helps
