Thinking of getting my exhaust coated by Dean. They glow cherry red at the cylinder head. Normal?

Good. Some places have issues if the headers glow.

You might be a little lean if this is happening when riding normally. Sitting still idling for several min could be normal.

Do you have an ECM mapped by EBR? Bike running okay? Might look for a vacuum leak

The only time I noticed was while it was sitting warming up. I have the race ecm and I believe it's matched to my RT3

I have the same set up and have never noticed the headers glowing are you sure it is matched as mine was ordered by Dean when I bought the pipe.

I have a Jardine exhaust with matching race ECM. My headers will glow if I leave it idling.

Loretta's headers started glowing after one of the early maps got loaded.

I was able to access the ECM with the help of a man from Ohio and found the advance at 18 degrees.
I dropped idle advance to 5 degrees and she smoothed out a lot and the headers quit glowing.

Zac4mac - when you retarded the idle advance, was that with the stock or race ECM?
