I have a black OEM one and would like to trade it for a silver OEM one.

Any takers? It would be great if you were in San Diego

Or anyone wanna sell me their sliver one?

I think they are stainless. You might be able to remove the black coating and put a brushed finish on it with a scotchbrite pad or fine sandpaper.

Todd

The black finish will run cool to the touch(45+mph) especially if you polish the inside.

I've been curious about that. Great advice!

Black . . both absorbs and gives up heat faster than a polished surface.

I touch the exhaust at +45 simply to heat my hand up... it's getting cold here.

I polished the inside of mine when I painted it flat black sometime in 2008.
Making that shield cooler really cut down radiated heat to my leg.
I also polished the head-pipes then.

Heated grips are gentler on gloves and skin.
I put a set on Loretta the day I got her(it was a high of 20dF that day).

Here in Colorado, I use the grips on low even in Summer. after dark.

My Uly's my daily rider, she had the heated grips stock, and she also has Hippo Hands for Winter riding.
