I lost mine once, bike was still under warranty but if I recall they said it was a TSB, so there was a revised kit for it anyways. It looked a bit different than the original one, or so I thought. I didn't spend much time staring at the original kickstand spring as it is. Mind you I could be wrong on that, but if its the case I don't think it was all that expensive on its own and might be worth picking up so you can fix the issue altogether. Fixes the problem entirely, the original design is kinda shady and allows the assembly to come loose and fall off. In my case, the entire assembly fell off while out on a ride rather than just the spring. In the mean time while I waited for the parts, I just carried some rubber hair ties to keep the kickstand up when riding, did a pretty good job. | ||

Hey all! First post here, just wanted to shed some knowledge for the most recent post I could find regarding this issue. I have an 09 1125r and I think I've encountered and mitigated every common issue with these bikes I'm quite sure. I just received an 1190RX kickstand tonight and I replaced the whole assembly on my bike after the extension plate component liberated itself on the 805(probably). The 1190 kickstand works great! The spring extension plate is more strategically designed and the fit is perfect. Check ebay for the whole kickstand if you lose your springs, I got this one for $50. |
