Have noticed last few weeks that I've lost the explosive kick in the rear acceleration I used to have. Could go 75 up 110mph in a blink. Now it gets tired at 98. Not using oil, no funny sounds, good gas mileage, motor is smooth. Am wondering if our California "winter formulation" gas is the culprit. Thoughts?

I'm down in San Diego, so I can't say for sure from my perspective. I do know my old '93 Dakota didn't like the winter blend back in Ohio.
That being said, as long as it starts fine and still gets up to 98, I think you're ok.
Maybe try a different gas station. My CR seems to prefer Chevron 92 octane compared to the same grade "cheaper" gas stations.
Good luck!

In order to increase HP on the RX, they had to pull power from all existing "loki" platforms. Sorry.

You could also try checking the battery. These things seem to be really picky on battery charge level. I was riding a different bike more often and the 1125 sat for about a month. It fired right up but the throttle response was a bit off, almost delayed. I checked the obvious things and no results. Threw it on the tender overnight and all was well. Maybe something easy for you to try.

Musclecargod - My 1125CR experience has been the same. When the electrical system is not 100% everything gets duller; starting, acceleration, even deceleration.

Even when my '08's battery was weak, there was no noticeable degradation in performance, and installing a new battery made no noticeable improvement.

I'm not saying that a weak electrical system couldn't negatively affect power to some degree, but I'd be surprised if a battery that still has the power to start the bike could make that kind of difference.
