What is the hex diameter of out front axle? 22mm right? I'm gong to weld up an axle tool because mine is long since missing and I don't have time to wait to buy one since I'm borrowing stands (buddy finally got back to me thankfully, saving Mr the headache of trying to improvise) for my fork job. Limited time to git er done. | ||

If you don't torque-down your axle but rely on the pinch bolts, you can use a screwdriver handle to turn the axle. Pound the handle in and use a pipe wrench. this is pretty hardcore, but a lot of screwdrivers(at least in my tool-drawer) are the right size... The axle is 7/8", a little bigger than 22mm <edit - metric-imperial miscalc> Z (Message edited by zac4mac on August 29, 2013) | ||

Awesome, thanks guys! We should have plenty of that size at the shop, weld em up and good to go. Thankfully we've got a massive hoard of spare parts we pile up in the body shop, a lot from removing hitches and stuff after wrecks (I do body work) because the insurance company replaces EVERYTHING if its damaged even a little, hitch, mounting hardware and all. Great for building up stockpiles of all kinds of screws, clips, nuts and bolts for those "Job is waiting on nuts and bolts" where we want to push a job through but don't want the lead times dragging down our productivity numbers. Sometimes, its great for pet projects like this too! Paid off more than once for my own car LOL | ||

I use the hex on a 13/16 spark plug socket. I have one that is 1/2" drive that I can put an extension in backwards. Works like a charm. | ||
