Should have it next week. Will post results.

My SWAG is that the depth will be ok, but some trimming of the reflector will be necessary for the diameter of the projector housing.

With a new headlight set on it's way from Ronin motorworks and my current reflectors being burned out I have no fear of cutting.

Should be fun!

I'm very interested to see your findings. That is the projector I had in mind. I already have a spare set of housings, but have too many little projects going to have completed this one.

Just send the housings and projectors to me I'll put them together for you.

That's questionable Imblasted.

The projectors just came in. Without modification to the projectors themselves they will not clear the clear headlight cover. Needlessly, the dimensions of the plate the lens bracket mounts on extends to the bottom of the unit by a few crucial mm. What needs to be done is the inside lower corner bracket of the lens holder needs to be cut off. The hole in the reflector will also need to be enlarged to 35mm. Depth wise they look fine.

From what I remember the h1 kit is smaller. But yea I knew there was going to be some customizing needing to be done as in cutting.

Yeah, the H1 kit is smaller in width but I think .5 inch longer. Smaller mounting shaft too.

Anyways, I did some hacking in the lab and got them in. Not only does the *outside* lower corner bracket need to be cut, but the inside upper open guide hole (or whatever purpose it is designed for) as well. An approximately .75" wide by .5" deep notch will need to be cut into the reflector housing for the lower inside lens bracket. This allows the unit to sit flush. The reflector will have to be glued into it's cradle (snaps in originally) as there is just too much play (appx 3mm) as it stands. The main reason I took these things apart was to investigate why my headlights were bouncing around so much. Here are some pics:

I figure I can fab/order a pigtail to split the hi-beam voltage over to the shutter solenoid to have quad hi-beams.

Looks good, I'd probably set it up to have 4 low and 4 high. But I'd also be modifying the reflector a bit more to allow me to put a shroud around the projector. That lens looks pretty close to the clear cover, how much space would you say you have? Kinda looks like there is not enough space to get another set into the other spot. Guess I have to order up myself a set now. I will be doing my CR with the H1 kit. Did you get the motorcycle harness or the standard harness? And what temp bulbs did you go with? Have you checked the beam output on the bike yet? Just to make sure the cutoff is right?

I'd say it's about a .5-.75 inch gap. Definitely not getting a projector into the outer spot -way too shallow and narrow.

Since I wasn't certain on the fitment of the projectors, I only just now ordered the ballast (long cord) and bulbs (4300) along with some female 9006 connectors to replace the two low beam h11's and a h11>9006/h11 pigtail to split the hi-beam to the solenoid.

Look for an update later this weekend.

Cool I was just curious. I don't think the harness would really be necessary but I'm just planning on ordering the kit instead of individual components

That looks sick. I took my headlamp apart and the CR appears to be too small to fit projectors into. :-( I may pick up a cr headlight assembly to do some curtain. And see if I can get something to fit and look good

Bubba, that's the idea. The H8 bulbs that come with the bike are rather limp, and the HID's from xenonrider that I had in there were satisfactory but I got the itch to try these.

Everything is together now. Version 1.0 so to speak. I ordered the ballasts with the long cable but in hindsight the standard length would have been perfect. I would also have ordered the h11>9006/h11 pigtail to be an inch or so longer (if TRS would accomodate) as there isn't much room behind the hi beam buckets. There isn't any room in there for a vanity shroud. Best one could do would be to paint the solenoid bracket hi-temp matte black somehow. Some quick pics:

Headlight housing, upside down, with everything attached as a whole unit:

Lows (still need some rotational tweaking)

Highs (SO BRIGHT). This is all four bulbs with the shutters enabled by the highs. Sorry for the crap pic.

Did you have to cut the reflector bowl in two, or are they already separate? Looks like one side was removed.

How do you mean? The reflector bowl for the HID needs to be modified, and so does the OEM reflector housing, but nothing get's cut in two. It might look like I cut the OEM housing half because I painted the low beam side black.

So, I just want to make certain I have this straight. This lights you got are HIDs, right? And what they are are HID projectors. So unlike other kits these will project the beam correctly so as to not blind people, but will give a good light for you to see still.

*IF* you have the time and inclination, would you mind breaking down the steps for this into a "how-to"? I know nothing about projectors, and only a little about hids. My bike (1125r) has the OEM lights and i find them somewhat lacking on the country roads i drive...

Your comments about shutters and switches for running 4hi/4lo have me confused, and i also thought the ballasts were only for hids?

So on their website it's $110 and when you check out the quantity is 1. So is that one pair or just one light?
