Well, I suppose I've lurked long enough.

I finally took the plunge and got an 09 1125R.
Really loving this thing so far, and the community here is just astounding. I'm very thankful to see such a cool group of enthusiasts : )

I'm interested to hear suggestions on a couple topics if anyone has a moment:

1: I'm 6'6. I fit okay, but I'm curious if anyone has any suggestions for mods to make riding a bit more comfy for a tall fella. I'm considering perhaps a 1" riser on the steering, but honestly I'm completely open to suggestion. Any ideas?

and 2: At some point, I think I'd like to play around with swapping out the R front fairing with a CR. I really like the looks of the CR for short around town stuff. The R fairing looks to be much better for long distance (wind protection). Any direction on how I could go about finding a CR front fairing and whatever else is required to swap it out?

I've done a bit of searching on both of these subjects, but end up doing a ton of reading with little head way. Any insights or reflections welcome, and thanks in advance!

the XB lightning pegs are 1" lower $30.00 at HD? I am 6'1" and it was a big improvement for me! A seat with more padding would also give you more legroom.

Uly drop pegs work for a less aggressive position.

To convert to a Cr front end, you will need the top of the triples, headlight, brake, clutch, and throttle cables, bars and windscreen. There may be a few parts I forgot. If you a re interested, I have the top triple, bars , throttle and clutch cable. the bars ar clubman bars.

Holy crap you guys are fast and helpful.
Thanks!

@Shawns: dropped you a pm

@Akaddict: checking that out now, thanks!

@Danny, dadams and john:

With my freakishly long legs, the Uly drop pegs would likely still have me in an aggressive position. How much of a drop do they provide? I'll probably go with either those or the lightning, either will help more than stock.

Great suggestions so far, this might be easier than expected. I'm going to be making a pretty long trip into NC in a few weeks and am hoping to get a few adjustments asap.

Probably should have just got a CR. The handle bars are much.further forward. Its better suited for a taller rider.

I looked for a CR for a bit, didn't have the resources to go get some I came across. Found an R locally and am happy with the arrangement, just need to do some tweaking.

Hoping to learn from some of the experienced guys around here.
