I've been trolling BWB for years for some awesome DIYs on fixing my various Buells and I finally came across something that hasn't been (or at least that I could find) covered.

I was getting a low fuel pressure error on start up and over 8k rpms on my 08 1125r and found my KPA was sitting at about 250 after prime and 200 running. Time to replace... I had a hard time finding a replacement at a fair price so I decided to try out that infamous $40 ebay felco pump. I spent all weekend pulling the pump, which was not easy or straight forward, and finally got it changed out.

It was not an exact fit and the fuel strainer was not even close, but I cut down the rubber stop on the inlet side and after some test fitting got it to fit. I put a gallon back in the tank from what I drained and ran it to the gas station.

It started perfect, KPA sat at 525 primed and 450 running. Ran better than it has in weeks. the pump is crazy quiet too.

I gotta say I'm impressed and I'm glad I made the gamble. I'll update if I run into anything crazy or premature failure, but so far so good.

Glad to hear it worked. My fuel pump is still going strong, fortunately!
