Hey, I'm new to his forum. I may have the opportunity to buy an '08 1125r at a good price. It has very few miles,but I have a few questions. If I got it should I expect to have charging issues? If so how soon? Also, since the millage is so low, (less than 1000) would stuff like that be covered under warranty? Were there any recalls to be aware of, and is HD still taking care of them if so? I poked around on here, but got a little overwhelmed with all of the info. Thanks in advance. | ||

No charging issues. No warranty. No support for HD in most cases. It's still a pretty good bike, in particular if you aren't afraid of working on them yourself. | ||

There's a way to check the VIN to see if all recall work has been done - don't remember the specifics, maybe someone will chime in. The '08's are pretty dependable and you're getting a barely broken-in bike. Ride it like you stole it and don't worry about the 'problems' posted here - I think most of us have had a good experience with the 1125. | ||

The stator issues do not apply to the 08 models, so you should never have to worry about that. The factory warranty was for 2 years unlimited mileage, it is highly unlikely there is any more warranty left. HD in general was pretty terrible with taking care of Buells, but some dealers were better than others. Still, you are probably going to be on your own. Buy it, enjoy it, and if something does break on it, you can be sure it has been documented on here before with easy fixes. | ||

Cool. I feel better that the charging issues don't apply. Kinda expected a lack of support from HD. I'll be looking at it this weekend when the owner and I can get together. Thanks for the help. |
