Just looking for an answer - my front lights - except for the front parking light where off coming home. Battery was at 13.5 average all the way to church and back - 40 miles. Was two weeks since the last ride on it. Checked fuses - ok. Put bike on charger, and about two minutes later, turned her over, and the light - low came on, and high was ok as well. I've read here that the lights will not come on if the battery is low. Is this the case? Damn battery is less than a year old, is it going south, or does it just need to spend regular down time on the trickle charger? I could use some clarification on this please. If it is the battery - who sells them inexpensively? Thank you for any help. EZ | ||

Hey EZ, remember me? I loved my blast, I have since had an XB12S (for a very short time as the engine started making noises i didn't like), and I now have the CR! when I first started looking at this forum I saw the CR next to your "blast" and wanted it immediately. sorry back to the headlights. mine would do that but as soon as i wiggled the key or turned the key off then on, the lights would turn on. I haven't done anything except spray a lubricating penetrant (is that a word?) into the ignition switch. The problem has not presented itself again after doing so. I sprayed GT85 its great, i use it on everything from bicycle chains skateboard bearings to breaking loose rusted bolts and now inside my ignition switch. GT 85 is a lubricant, penetrator, and water displacer. hope that helps. im thinking maybe not. but worth a shot Nick | ||

LOL - worth a shot, but I do remember someone else having this issue. Hate getting older - can not remember how it was resolved, but it was. Sigh... EZ | ||

Someone had an R and the wire harness connected to the ignition switch started breaking wires. They said if the lights do not turn on, turn the bars lock to lock. If the lights come back on you'll have to repair the wiring near the ignition switch. But I thought the problem was with the fairing mount. | ||

The fairing stay is the cause. Wires breaking from the switch is the symptom. If that's your problem, it's an easy fix. soldering iron, heat gun and a Dremel. I fixed my wiring twice, then relieved the stay so the wires weren't so stressed and all's been fine since. Z | ||
