Can those of you who have removed your OEM voltage regulators tell me if there was sufficient heat sink compound underneath the regulator? I am doing some routine maintenance and was wondering if it would help to put some Arctic Silver 5 under the regulator. I recently installed the EBR rotor and removed the HD harness fix and bike is charging fine at this time and I want to keep it that way.
Thanks for your input. Mort

Arctic Silver is the best on the market, to my knowledge.
If you're gonna do that, wet sand the R/R and heatsink on a glass slab to get a good face-match.

The only better heat-transfer is diamond dust.

Zac- When you first removed your voltage regulator, was there a sufficient amount of heat sink compound on there from the original factory installation? Thanks

There was enough on mine. Contrary to popular belief, more of that stuff is NOT better. You want a small amount, just enough to fill in the microscopic cracks/gaps/etc.

Baf is spot-on, mine had a tad too much...

Zac4mac - I just learned something cool,"wet sand the R/R and heatsink on a glass slab to get a good face-match."
