FOr those of you that do track days, What have you found to be the sweet spot for the RPM range?

My bike is a stock 1125.

6,000 - 10,500.

Anything below that and you are lugging the motor.

Easiest way to explain it....you'll know.

Seriously, you will know when you are in the right gear.
The bike will be well settled and under control, yet will have strong drive out of the corner.

I have no idea what RPM i'm at unless I'm shifting going down the straight.
It's all got to be done by feel.

Yep, if you're coming from the X1, it will be quite the revelation when you think it's time to shift and you still got 4K to the rev limiter - once you get used to that, be careful when you go back to the X1. (bouncing of RL in 3rd is my M.O. on my XB)

Thanks for the info guys.

Stirz- You are correct. It is a hell of a difference coming from the X1. The handling of the X1 feels natural to me while the 1125 feels very awkward and unbalanced.

Hupp - if you haven't already, I'd offer that getting with a suspension guy would be worth the effort. I LOVE the way the 1125 turns in compared to my XB. (I wasn't happy with my XB until I fabbed some clubman bars to get the controls down and forward) You might just need to tweak it a bit to get the balance you're looking for...

I had a suspension guy adjust the suspension for me halfway through my first trackday last year and that made a hell of an improvement. Prior to that I had it adjusted per the manual.

I think I need to get more seat and track time on it in order to gain the confidence. Once I get a little more time on it I plan on having a suspension guy start making some fine adjustments.
