I looked thru the stickies and the last page or two of this board and I can't find any discussions about batteries or air filters. I'm in need of both.
Is there a consensus or ongoing discussion about our best options here?

The battery store next door has an american-made replacement for $100 or a cheaper foreign version for $70. Obviously I'd go for the american version between those two, but am I missing a better option?

the 1125 battery cable connections are a but too wide for the typically recessed caged nut systems. Adding washers is a bit weird.

The flush mount East Penn is just like the HD and avoids all of the washer connection issues.

K&N on the air filter - lasts forever. You can get the Lithium batteries for around $150 and up, but they save about 10 pounds over stockers.

I don't fully understand the difference but shorai shows 270 CCA(a) with the above mentioned mirai at 175 CCA. Can anyone explain the difference?

Dave, how has that battery been so far? Good cranking power? Any issues in the cold?

Has anyone tried a Mirai battery yet? They have one that will fit that has 325CCA and I like their dual terminal set up

I threw this in on my last order for the air filter: http://www.erikbuellracing.com/store/models/1125r/ 1125-k-n-air-filter.html

I just did that P_squared. I submitted an order for the rotor, crankshaft locking tool, stator gasket, rotor nut and the air filter at 3:05 pm yesterday. I got a shipping notification at 3:20 pm and it was on my doorstep at 2:39 today. Very impressive.
