Might try an Aprilia shop. Their 2007 & earlier models used water-cooled Rotax V-twin motors.

Wow this really sucks. Do you have any wrenching skill at all? Or any friends that do? if so, this is not a difficult job to do with a couple of the right tools. If you can find someone, I, or perhaps someone here even more qualified, would be happy to explain what's needed and talk them through it.

Sorry to hear that. With spring, it's going to be a tough time of year to get somebody to go "over and above" to work on the bike.

I have lots of wrenching skills, I changed a clutch on a subaru impreza this weekend, and rebuilt some forks on an old Honda shadow last week. But I refuse to fork over my own money and time when I paid for an extended warranty. What's the point of an extended warranty if I have to pay for parts and do the work myself?

That's cool, Harley will never get any of my money again. This kind of stuff is going to end up making me sell this bike (even though I love it) and get a Honda. Not to mention this Buell doesn't even have 5000 miles on it. At least Honda backs their machines and has techs that can work on them.

You have every right to be pissed off. Were I in your shoes, I would consider filing a suit naming HD, the Dealer and the Insurance CO. as co-conspirators in committing fraud.

What about possibly removing the motor and doing it yourself, and then having having the warranty company pay you for the work and parts? My father did similar to that with a truck he bought.

Maybe something similar with shipping the motor to EBR for service? They get paid for the work, you get paid for your time and shipping?

H-D extended service won't even pay me for gas to take the motorcycle to Dallas. I seriously doubt they would pay for that. I appreciate the suggestions though. I'm going to eat the gas money to trailer it to Dallas because they supposedly have a tech that can work on these, and if it doesn't get resolved then, I'm going to pursue something along the lines of what Rodrob suggested because it is total and utter BS.

Just so you guys don't think I'm not exhausting all means, I already called several other sportbike dealers and custom shops that refused the work. They all basically said the same thing, they don't have the tools or experience to work on the engine. I even have the crank and cam tools and the service manual that I purchased for future work if I needed them (after the warranty expired) and I offered to let them use them.

So driving to Corinth, TX (just north of Dallas) has relieved me. The Buell tech there seems very knowledgeable and was eager to help me. Thank God someone was finally able to help me out. While I think it a bit ridiculous to have to drive 2.5 hours, it's worth it if someone will do what they need to. Still hate HD as a corporation, but the service guys at American Eagle HD were very helpful and nice.
