I've read in the past that people have fabricated a way to install a push style quick shifter on their 1125 with standard shift pattern, does anyone have this setup? How does the quick shifter work? And is it better to go with a gp reverse pattern?

I'm asking because I had the opportunity to purchase a push style q shifter and took it so just for the sake of it I would like to install it and learn more about it. Thanks .

Honestly, the 1125 has such a smooth transmission, you don't really need to clutch after 2nd.
It's even a smooth shift down once you learn how much to rev as you drop a gear(not much).

Upshifting is smoother the harder you are on the throttle.
Just back off the throttle a tad and shift.

If you're trying to shave a few tenths drag-racing, the Q-shifter may help.
I'm no help there tho.
I don't think there's much difference betw conventional and GP patterns.

There are a few here that are seriously dragging, hopefully some of them will chime in.

if you wanna stay with the normal pattern and don't wanna put a linkage on, then there is just one solution (as far as i know), the starlane quickshifter. i got this one on my track-bike. it's easy to put on, electrics is quite a bit a brainer to put on, but it works like a charm.
