We've been asked to do a group buy for the Twin Motorcycles 1125 Intake Stacks.

Here's the product on our site: http://www.5-0dro.com/index.php/buell/1125-models/ 2008-20102013-01-19-02-24-09/twin-motorcycles-buel l-1125-intake-stacks-detail

We can offer these for only $130 (shipped to your door! Cont. US only...International will be $30 more) for 10 or more orders. Here's how it will be structured:

*If you want to be in, Copy the list below into a new post with your name (ie. 1 - 50dro etc.)

*Once the list reaches 10 or more (I'll be posting this elsewhere also to help get there) I will release a coupon code for the discount.

*At that time, you'll be given a 2 week period to place your order on our site.
*We will then place our order through Twin Motorcycles for the parts.

*If the 10 or more people don't come through with payment you will be given a full refund or the option to pay the regular price.

*Note - This group buy could exhaust Twin Motorcycles' current stock so you may have to wait for them to be produced. We will be sure to communicate this.

Thanks for your participation! ; )

Looking at the install instructions, I can't see how can you remove those after you install them?

Unfortunately yes. The US Post office considers it an international shipment and charges accordingly. Sorry...

Yeah...guess that came out wrong...it IS an international shipment even though its closer than many US cities so the fee applies : p

"If I want to order anything else from Twin could I tack it onto my order?"

Absolutely! I'll provide a coupon that will adjust the price of the stacks for the group buy. Other TM or 5-0dro products can be added as normal. Thanks!

PS - How do you quote a post on this forum? I don't see a place to do so as Yugi did above.

Would the in-take stacks be beneficial for the common track day?

I don't mean to sound sarcastic, but wouldn't more performance almost always be good...especially on the track? Maybe someone with some track experience on an 1125 can chime in?

I'm running EBR ECM and a Barker exhaust. Will the ECM need to be reflashed?

I asked that very question for a customer. Here's the answer from TM:

quote:

AS we have never seen a ECM from EBR wit a tune for that we don't know.

Is it a full race ECM of EBR or is it a upgrade in the stock ECM from EBR?.

As you can see in this picture: http://www.dragbike.nl/pictures/pictures%202010/bo nneville/stockjardineshortstackopenairbox.jpg

The amount of HP and Torque after the propper tune is a lot.

We don't advice you without a dyno run before stock and and after the install of the stacks to go for this.

The dyno reading should be done in both headers.

Offcourse we sell a tune for that setup. Barker asked us to test the exhaust for them and we did (-:

This is the product you need: http://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp? guid=YXHFSC&aid=2443&cid=0&s=reflash&a=&aname=TM_E CM_Reflash__all_models

And we need to reflash the ECM. We can do that online. You need to connect the bike to a PC with this cable: http://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp? guid=YXHFSC&aid=1756&cid=0&s=usb&a=&aname=Twin_Mot orcycles_USB_programming_cable

Then you need to install a free program called Team vieuwer. Then put a battery charger on the bike the night before and keep it on while we try to connect to the bike.
To do this the bikes needs to be connected to a pc that is connected to the internet.

Or send us the ECM and we send it back.

Hope this works

You name isn't Joe is it?

PS - How am I doing with my quotes??? ; )

OK...Spoke with someone at EBR concerning using these stacks in combination with their ECM. EBR's ECMs are pre-loaded with a tune for a bike that has a hi flow (K&N) air filter and the given exhaust that it was advertised for. They haven't done any testing with velocity stacks in conjunction with their ECM so he was hesitant to say for sure what the effect would be without proper testing and knowing a little more about the stacks dimensionally. He suspected that it may change the characteristic of the power band slightly. He compared it to putting a slip-on pipe or a K&N filter on your bike on it's own without a proper tune...It will change the characteristic but it won't likely be as optimal as a custom tune for your exact setup. He felt pretty strongly that the stacks wouldn't lean it out to the point of damaging your engine (but of course wouldn't guarantee it w/o testing).

His recommendation was to at least do some before and after baseline testing to to see the effects of the stacks to HP and fuel mixture. He didn't think that EBR would be willing/able to create pre-programmed ECMs for every exhaust combination with and without stacks considering all the other development that they are doing with their production and race efforts and the small number of 1125s in the grand scheme of things. He did say that he may be able to do the baseline dyno tests if he could borrow the stacks to do so, but of course he would have to get approval for this and it could be a while for him to get a free dyno so no promises there. I would want to clear this with TM or let them handle it directly as the stacks are their design.

Of course, if you have the fully programmable EBR ECM you could make whatever adjustments you would like by dyno tuning.

I hope this helps. I will update you if anything else develops on my end.

Thanks!
