Wednesday was the last day I rode my bike. Yesterday, I didn't ride because it was raining. This morning I tried to ride but my key wouldn't turn to unlock the steering. I've never had this happen before. Any ideas why it would be jammed and not unlocking? | ||

that is frickin funny!  but seriously, have you tried moving the clipons back and forth while you jiggle the key back and forth? | ||

Try jiggling the bars left to right while turning the key. My car has a tendency to do this if I park in a way the forces the steering wheel back against the locking mechanism. My nephew bought a blast without a key that was locked (similar switch visually). He ended up taking the bottom part of the switch apart and getting it free, although not sure if he destroyed the switch doing it. He spliced the wires together on the switch side and just unplugs it at the connector whenever he parks it. Good luck. | ||

Tried messing around with it some more but to no avail. It appears that the key entry is slightly depressed as if it's jammed. | ||

You are not going to believe what just happened. So it helps when you're using the right key. It appears my wife had done some unpacking and placed my old bike key on the dresser. I grabbed it thinking it was the right key. I found my key in my bike jacket. I felt so stupid. Anywho, thanks for the advice and jokes. | ||

Lol to make you feel better it took me a whole day to figure out why I couldn't get my sv650 started. Then at 11pm while laying in bed it hit me and had to get dressed and go out and try again pull the damn clutch in... My wife just laughed at me since that's the bike she rides. That's hilarious! I think I've done that too. Just a few months ago I was picking my bike up from Power Toys, after it had been serviced, and attempted to start it but my thumb wasn't hitting the starter button. Baffled I tried the left and my horn blared, scaring me. It couldn't have been that long since I've ridden that I don't know how to start my bike, I said to myself. I looked closer at where my starter button was supposed to be and noticed it had been busted. I couldn't believe they had busted my starter and not told me. I've done the same with my father-in-laws bike trying to work on it. Took me about an hour or longer to figure out I had to pull in the clutch to turn over the engine while trying to start the bike. Talk about an ego buster. It's a '91 Suzuki savage |
