It's been fun! In a few days, my 1125R will be gone. Decided to move on to a Victory. Told my wife I would never buy a new Harley, so I stuck to my word. Thanks to all those that have passed on their knowledge to help me out with the few issues I had with my R. If anyone is interested, I have a Pitbull rear stand and a Powerstands front stand. Drop me a message if interested.

Is the front a triple tree or fork lift? If triple tree I might be interested.

How does one decide to "move on" from an 1125r to a Victory?!?!

J, I'm having some serious comfort issues doing any long distances on the R. I'm sure there are solutions to those problems, but I think it's time to try something different. I've got almost 34K on the Buell, and I don't regret buying the bike for one second. She's taken me half way across the country and back twice. My entire cycling time has been spent on sport bikes, so I'm gonna cruise for a while. If things change in the future, I'm sure there will be some 1125's on the cheap for me to scoop up.

From the point of carrying a passenger, the 1125 is not a bike for that! My wife flat out refuses to get on. I can see the purpose for having a bike like a Victory.

IMHO, you just trade sore ankles and thighs for a sore lower back with a cruiser...

I predict you'll be back on a sport bike before too long since that's been the bike of choice. I tried switching and while the whole cruising thing has it's appeal, you'll start to feel old.

Ya know, a Triumph Thruxton might be a good middle ground, sporty but slower and a good passinger bike. LOTS cheaper too.

Which Victory anyway?

Sport TOURERS are the best compromise. Check out the BMW F800GT.

Unless, of course, you wanted to "Buy American," in which case I'd suggest Motus (if you could find a dealer).

Duph, going with the Hard Ball w/ some added factory accessories. If I do decide to come back to the sport bike world, it WILL be an 1125R.
Jaimec, my wife has a 2004 FJR. A rocket of a bike and handles awesome. Rode it a couple times and just doesn't fit right.
I can't pick out why, but I just don't like the feel.

The Motus is a real beauty but it's near $40K they won't be around long

Buell Rida,

Anything with two wheels is cool. My brother in law has a Victory Vision that has almost no miles which he is looking to sell - victim of the economy. We are in central CT. I don't know much about the bike except it is black has a ton of toys and low miles. If your still in the market for a Victory I could get the details.
