I would check it out in person. I don't know why but I smell a scam or a legal problem. Find out what you have to do to get the bike registered here in the US. He may be having a problem bringing it into the country. Find out what country it was built for. | ||

I don't know about the export models. the 2010's weren't naked, they had decals on the pods. As I understand it from reading this site, the export models and california had catalytic converters. | ||

and btw, it's a 3 hour drive for me to go view it..  doesn't help matters. but that will be the case regardless. Just not a lot of 1125R's around here in Podunk, Tx | ||

San Antonio is a huge Army area. Probably bought it in Germany. It's a 2010 so it has the 3 bearing rear wheel and the oil sightglass. nice features. If I had the cash and was local I'd be very interested. Shouldn't be too hard to get registered, Texas is pretty easy. Z | ||

The bike doesn't have 2010 graphics anywhere except tail section. Looks more like 2009. Could just be due to personal taste though, I removed my 2010 decals except for the unique front fairing one. I suspect that it's a 2009 model - although the pics aren't that good it doesn't look like it has an LED taillight, as only fitted to 2010 MY as standard. That's a dead giveaway. And the 2010s didn't have red striped wheels fitted as standard. Could belong to somebody in the services that were stationed abroad. (Message edited by sportster_mann on December 10, 2012) | ||

5k sounds about right. Scammers don't usually include phone numbers. I'd call, make offer, tell him you'll bring a bank check to his bank and have a bill of sale sign by a notary. It's not good to run around with 5 grand in your pocket. | ||

It has a European plate on it. So it could have been imported. It looks like an 09 but seller may be calling it a 2010 because that's when they bought it? | ||

If you end up wanting a track-only 1125r, I have one with about 250 miles I could let go. It's never been registered and I'm not sure it could be, but it's essentially brand new. I bought it to teach on this year, but I don't know that I'm going to be teaching as much since I have a very full race and work schedule. put a Showa race shock on it, rigid pegs, clip-ons and a couple of other goodies -- it's a really nice track bike now. $4500-ish would probably get it. I'm not dying to sell it, but then again, don't need it like I thought I would. | ||

One has to be dead not to like the ZL1! LOL! Awesome cars. All of them! Corvette (in all its forms), Camaro SS/ZL1, Mustang GT/Boss 302, etc. I had me a Corvette once. Then a late model Mustang GT. I nearly lost my license between these and my sportbike! It was and still is an exercise in frustration and self-restrain driving very fast cars on the street. On top of that, all it takes is some speed Nazi/vigilante to drive in formation or hold you back in a two lane road! I ended up selling my Mustang GT (& Vette) and just getting a 4-door sedan (a turbo 4-door!). The sedan isn't as fast as my musclecars, although "fast enough" to keep me happy. However, this is a good thing for my license. Then I have my 1125R to blow the cobwebs out. When I'm on two wheels nobody can hold me back. Not even traffic! We get to lane split here in Southern California! You will love your ZL1. | ||

Good question! My wife cant drive a manual, and I haven't test driven the automatic. I'm in a peculiar situation because I am set to order the car next week on my birthday and I am still torn. I guess it would truly be MY car if I went with the manual just as my bike is MINE based on her inability to ride it. Here in Dallas the traffic stinks but I only plan on driving it Friday thru Sunday. The Automatic has paddle shifter with prestaged shifts which make it faster than the stick at 184 mph and runs the quart at about 11.9 at 120 mph. 0 to 60 also comes in at 3.8 secs with the auto. What do you guys think? Which transmission would you go with? Also if no one buys the bike by the time the car is delivered, I'm keeping it. | ||

My vote is the stick. I have only owned one auto in my life - a 1974 Impala wagon with a Z-28 motor in it. Super sleeper Now I have a 1995 Z-28 and LOVE the 6 speed manual trans. If you plan on drag racing it tho, the auto would be better. Enjoy and be careful which ever one you get. Z | ||

Snackbar, there is no debate. If the the auto is faster, then THAT is the right transmission! My car has the full manual control of the 6-speed auto ("+" and "-" up and down shifting with the stick not paddle). Trust me, it's as good as a stick without the work of the clutch. What really matters is the number of ratios in the transmission that allows you to put the engine in the right RPM range during spirited driving. This is invaluable in the twisting. However, GM's 6-speed autos have very good logic control from the ECM. It always chooses the right gear 90% of the time. So don't waste your time with a manual since it has the same number of gears. There is no performance advantage except maybe a slight weight savings. With the auto/paddle shift, you get the best of both worlds. | ||
