Author Message   Phwx2 Posted on Tuesday, December 04, 2012 - 06:50 pm:        So we have a "V" in the center of our tank and the fuel boils etc. I thought that space shuttle shield material on the inside surface of the tank facing the engine might pull some of the heat out and reduce the fuel boiling issue. No more fuel boiling. I have an 09 that already had the aerogel on most of the inside of the frame but it was still getting hot enough to burn my leg so when i had the frame off to do the valve adjustment i added some more of the heat-shield from Al at American Sport Bike. I also removed the headers and spray-ceramic coated them and cured them, then i wrapped them really good with header wrap, then i sprayed the header wrap with the silicon header wrap treatment. Not sure if it was the extra shielding or the header wrap but the bike runs significantly cooler now. Yes I did it when my engine was rotated. It was a much more complete job that way.
