There appears to be a person obstructing the art in the image...

The white 1125Rs are very pretty!

Nothing against the bike or model exactly, but if that's the finished photo.......not a very good photographer.

Couple of Examples of bikes

Those are just the motorcycles I also have cars and other stuff.

On a side note I'm always available to shoot different bikes or anything. I am in the Chicagoland area

George - not a bad low-key photo (black background w/ subject just illuminated enough to stand out). Maybe not the best choice w/ the black parts being lost in the background (back seat, tires, undertail, etc.)

The model is probably a bit underexposed, but being blond it works OK as well. Good color for the skin, but again the black low-key kills the definition w/ her black top and black lace edging on her bottoms.

High-key (white background) would clip/obscure the white sections of the bike...

Low-Key example:

High-Key example:

From http://www.jackdevlin.co.uk/blog/2011/01/child-pho tographer-manchester/

I'd stick with something neutral so you can see both and work on better lighting (key, hair, back - basic 3 light setup).

But i'm no pro and depending on the other pics they do that might make this one not fit with the others of their series...

Great looking bike! cute model, just not the most flattering pic for either the bike or model IMO.

Gotcha! now I know what to look for! I didn't pay for this I was just a volunteer. I do agree its dark I actually lightened the image on my instagram app to make the black parts stick out a bit. I didn't edit this photo with that.

Craigg - some great shots! Like the girl wheelie especially. Great skyline shots too. Tough to balance flash w/ tungsten (guessing) street lamps! Or are you using a LED flash (much cooler color temp)?

Here's one of the only pics i have of the bike:

Mostly i do landscapes, people, and low light photography (what i really enjoy).
Startrails are a favorite of mine:

could spam a bunch of other favorites... A decent pan shot of random rider at the market:

I'll lay off now and let you guys get back to enjoying the model up above.

Sl33py, thank you. I just got into the hobby about a year ago, really started focusing on it recently. Those landscapes are amazing!

I'm using a bulb flash, I usually try not to use the Flash if I can get away with it. Tripod with long exposure. Trying to get the right color in Lightroom takes a while.

If you have a site I'd like to look at some of your other work.

Thx Craig. See you are shooting w/ a Canon Rebel T1i. f3.5 for 1.6 @ 21mm i think is tough to isolate the background at that focal length+exp. I'd try more open aperture if your lens is fast enough, lower iso (from 1600 i'd start 400 and see)...

makes me want to practice w/ my bike as model to see what settings work best for me.

Long lens w/ some separation from the background should give you good bokeh. As wide as it will go (f2.8 lens available?). A soft background (bokeh) would make the bikes stand out better (isolated). If you want to go looong exposure (>30sec) in little/no light that would be a sweet shot as well - but the street lights gotta go or they will clip/overexpose. Or burn your eyes out with a huge corona w/ artifacts like sunspots - lensflare(in your girls on harley - look at legs by engine).

I'm just an amateur, don't really post hem up online typically except a couple of the landscapes i think are a notch above my other pics.

I have some on Google+ i'll send you a link.
